Vielleicht interessiert es den einen oder anderen, was sich beim
Seefunk so tut. Das Dokument stammt aus den letzten Tagen:

B) Simplification of DSC. After seven years of effort, ITU and IEC are at
long last finishing the final standards defining a simplified DSC radio,
with a standardized software interface, free of most of the unnecessary
alarms and strange operation that has plagued the system since its
inception. The work is essentially done, but one administration is asking
the work be carried over another session for a further review.

C) AIS-SART. ITU has picked up the work begun at IMO COMSAR last month to
develop an AIS-version of the SART as an alternative to the radar SART.
Interestingly, this device would not use MMSIs.

D) Pubs carried on SOLAS vessels. ITU has begun looking at significantly
reducing the amount of ITU pubs required on GMDSS vessels. Some
administrations believe all ITU pubs could be eliminated, but no consensus
exists to do that just yet.

E) HF Spectrum. The raging battle continues between the broadcasters, who
are looking for more spectrum, and the maritime users, who are trying to
defend losing existing spectrum.

Gna. Kaum hat man den kram gelernt, ändern sie alles. Erst wird die ...
die... wie hiess die Bundesnetzagentur, als ich die Prüfung gemacht
habe?... und dann so etwas ;-)

Es geht um Publikationen. SOLAS-Schiffe müssen offenbar jede Menge
Handbücher und ähnliches mitführen, zudem regelmäßig aktualisieren,
obwohl die Werke nur von begrenztem Nutzen sind und oft völlig
ungelesen bleiben.

Dafür soll aber alles sehr viel besser werden :-)

Wer ein wenig mehr über die beabsichtigten Neuerungen erfahren will,
mag mich anmailen. (Es handelt sich um Text, den ich nicht einfach
in die Gruppe stellen will.)
